VERY FINE OLD NORTHWEST COAST MAKAH NUU-CHAH-NULTH BASKET c1900 For Sale

A finely woven large open work Northwest Coast Makah Nuu-chah-nulth basket dating from the late 1800\'s. The basket is finely woven from split cedar bark and twined and naturally dyed bear bear grasses in brown, red, yellow and orange to produce the striking floral banded patterns. The basket is a large size measuring 7\"D x 6\" and stands 4 3/4\" tall , museum number on the bottom with no repairs noted and sales tag . This is one of group of baskets we acquired that were de-accessioned from the Burke Museum in Seattle.
