VICTORIAN FLYING BAT w/STARS LADIES HATPIN SILVER-ON-JET BLACK CARNIVAL GLASS :
$174.00

glassdaze2007 Store For your consideration, this Gorgeous & Haunting Victorian-Style \"Flying Bat\" Carnival Glass Hat Pin is up for sale. All Carnival Glass from the Golden Age of Carnival (1907-1930) is iridescent pressed glass made in the United States (except where noted), to compete with other American & European high-end glass firms. Each individual piece was poured, tooled, shaped and colored by hand. When the Great Depression hit, the \"pretty glass\" fell out of favor and could no longer be afforded by the general public. With the factories full of glass, they were eventually given away as prizes at carnivals and State Fairs. Carnival Glass is pure, classic Americana. No Two Pieces Are Ever The Same. Manufacturer: Unknown (Early 20th Century - many believe these to be Czech-Bohemian). Pattern: Flying Bat. Color: Jet Black w/Silvery Iridescence.

Special Attributes: This is a Striking, Haunting and Ominous Carnival Glass Hatpin. Most importantly, It\'s Awesome! It is just as alive & vibrant today, as it was when it was Created. With a Very Detailed Body, this \"Flying Bat\" is Flanked in front, with Many Stars. This is an Excellent Light Silver-on-Jet Black Carnival Glass Example. Please see All Photos. Please note, that like Carnival Glass Buttons, there are little \"Nips\" to the edges. This piece has teeeeeeny common nips to the sides and a small flake off the Right wing. See Photos, it\'s Nothing! This Amazing Victorian-Style Hatpin is not new and is not a Reproduction, it is old and is not signed. Best of Luck & Happy offerding in this \"\" sale. Dimensions: 2\" long, 1 1/2\" wide. Condition: Excellent. Common Bubbles, Manufacture Marks, and the nips mentioned above, but no serious chips, cracks, repairs, roughness or abuse. Age appropriate wear to the iridescence. Considering that this is a piece of glass that\'s almost 100 years old, it\'s still in Amazing Shape. This is an Awesome addition to any collection! Please Read: 99% of the glassware that I sell is between 80 to 160 years old. If you are looking for brand new, contemporary items, you might not always find them here. If you are unfamiliar with old, antique glassware, please know that there will sometimes be wear, small scratches, tiny chips called \"flea bites\" and roughness on certain piece\'s edges, mould seams and bases. There are also \"manufacture marks,\" such as tooling marks, \"straw\" or \"sheer\" marks, mould imperfections, bubbles, etc. Tiny damage will normally be mentioned for accuracy, because if I can feel it, I will mention it. Over all, please let the photos guide you - I usually post 12 pictures per item, giving you a description, much more accurate then my words. When in doubt, \"Super size\" the photo and PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS before offerding! Thanks! Dan This \"Flying Bat Hatpin\" is worthy of any Collection of Fine Antique Iridescent Pressed Glass. Please ask any questions, I will try to answer as best I can.
