Vintage 1930\'s Stevens POINT BEVERAGE COMPANY Porcelain NEON Special Beer SIGN For Sale

Offered today is the be-all end-all holy grail of Stevens Point brewery advertising. The classic Point Beverage Company triangle double-sided porcelain neon sign. Anyone who\'s ever lived in Point or spent any amount of time here knows this sign. It has no rival. It is almost impossible to find one. I know of only a few of these that have been sold in the last 10 years or so. I have been watching Stevens Point advertising on for about 15 years and have never seen one for sale here before. To say they are a rarity is an understatement. There are only a couple that still hang outside that I know of. One at the brewery itself and one at a local eatery/pub at the intersection of I-39 and U.S. 10. Starlite Ballroom used to have one and a little country tavern north of Jordan Park on County Y used to have one as well, but both of those places are history now. If you\'ve been waiting to find one, here\'s your chance! Get it while it\'s here because you may be waiting a decades before you see another one come along. This sign is in good working order as you can see in the photos. The previous owner told me that the outer ring of neon had been broken at one time and he had it fixed. There are a number of repaired spots throughout the sign, mostly on the edges/points of the porcelain. I believe that these were repaired/repainted by the sign company that did the neon as the paint they used is a pretty good match. I would have included all of them in the photos, but limits me to just 12 pics (Seriously, -It\'s 2015! Can we get a few more pics already?) so I had to choose the ones that best represent the sign. The damage is to both of the bottom points, the two top points that are facing the wall in the pics (opposite the garage doors) and then a couple random other spots. All are fairly difficult to see from across the room and the repairs have very good color matching paint. This sign measures 36\" tall X 46\" wide. It is 40-1/2\" from the bottom point to the top of the hangers. It is 13\" wide from the outside of the neon tubes on each side. The canister itself is 8-3/4\" thick. There is no plug on the end of the original cloth cord as it had been hard wired into the garage where it previously hung. The porcelain on each side of this sign is very thick with great shelving. Colors are bold and bright. There is a union label and another manufacturers label on one side of the canister, but both are difficult to read as they have been painted over with black paint at some point. I did almost nothing in the way of cleaning this sign. I merely wiped it down to take some of the surface dust off. It could use a good going over and would likely look even better once it was cleaned up. I don\'t know what else to say about this sign that it doesn\'t already scream all by itself!
