Like the Whippet, it\'s got that generous 2 7/8\" brim edged in wide silver-gray grosgrain binding, a beautiful contrast to the black 1 3/4\" grosgrain ribbon hatband. The luxuriously soft fur felt is done in a businesslike shade of gray with a hint of purple; the pinch-front crown stands tall at  4 3/4\".
       Inside, the lining and sweatband are both marked MALLORY TEN, meaning the hat sold for ten bucks, the same price as the Stetson Whippet. The shimmering ivory satin lining is imprinted in maroon and gold, and the tan leather sweatband is gold-embossed with the name of the original retailer, Fireman\'s of Pittsburgh, Pa.
       Size: The tag is marked 7, but the inside circumference is actually 22 1/4\", which means it fits like a size 7 1/8.
       Condition: Only lightly used, and still very clean, but there are scattered moth bites all over the hat, most of them pretty insignificant. Study the pictures carefully.
