My wife bought this radio in 1959 when she was a junior in high school. Now, nearly 60 years later it is still working and still in excellent condition. Toshiba produced this radio in thermal plastic in three colors: Red, Ivory and Gray. It uses a 6 transistor circuit which was state-of-the-art at the time. It has a port for an earpiece. It also comes with a zippered leather case.
The leather case has had it, due to years of handling. Keep in mind, however, that the case was designed to protect the radio within. It has done that very well. The radio is free of scratches or dings. In the pictures, you may notice that the number 6 seems darker than the letters. In fact, the number six has gold paint in it. If you try to clean it, you will destroy the original paint color. The volume switch operates freely without static. The radio receives stations across the dial. I believe that this radio is collector quality.
