Up forSale is aVintage 1963 Fender Bassman Piggyback!
Rare Blonde Tolex! 6G6-B Circuit! Made In USA!This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1963 Fender Bassman Piggyback Amp & Cabinet. Built in the Blonde Tolex from 1962-1963. Very Rare Amp. This 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6-b is an excellent example early 1960s Fender craftsmanship, design, and aesthetic appeal. The Bassman has always been a favorite of guitarists since its introduction in 1952. The 6G6 version of this model is known for both its great Fender cleans and mild breakup when cranked. The preamp includes two 12ax7s for the Bass Instrument channel and one 12ax7 for the normal input. Two 6L6GC power tubes combine to produce about 50 watts of output to twin 12″ Oxford speakers. The “-b” version uses a diode rectifier that doesn’t sag like a tube rectified amplifier. All of these components mount insidetwo finger jointed, solid pine cabinets in typical Fender piggy-back style. This version differs from a blackface Fender both in the obvious cosmetics but also because the blonde bassman uses a presence knob instead of the bright switch. This adds a bit more versatility to the amp. The blonde Bassman was used by Brian Setzer, Mike Bloomfield, Pete Townshend, and Jimi Hendrix.
This Amp has been upgraded with Altec Speakers. They are model 417 Dia Cones dating from 1960 and 1967. On the back of the amp, someone wrote with an ink pen that the speakers were installed on 07/16/1976. They sound great! Much better than the original Oxfords. This is the way I received the amp. I do NOT have the Oxford speakers. If you are after that \"Classic Fender Sound\" this is the \"Real Deal\" NOT a Reissue. Built at the Fullerton Fender plant in Fullerton, CA. USA!Serial Number: #R01256
Rare and Collectable!
This Amp Sounds AWESOME! Has that Vintage Tone that only these older Fenders can make. Gigging or Recording this amp will do it all. Our Amp Tech did a MajorService on this Amp. Hedid a complete re-tube. All brand new JJ\'s. He also re-capped the amp and installed a newgrounded 3-prong power cord. He cleaned all pots and jacks and re-installed the Fender logo in the correct place on the head. You will not have to spend any additional monies. Gig Ready on Arrival!Cosmetics: GoodCondition. There are some ground in stains in the Blonde Tolex. As well as some scuffs and scratches. The Amp grill cloth is very clean, no rips or tears. Someone moved the Fender logo to the middle part of the head. We moved it back to its\'s rightful place, but you cansee the outline of the logo. I am sure this was done many years ago. The Piggyback cabinet, same story on the tolex. Grill cloth was replaced back in 1976 when the speaker upgrade was done. Does not match. It is a charcoal black color.Slightly faded due to age.InstrumentControl Bezel is also very nice. All lettering is legible. Keep in mind that this is a 54+ year old vintage amp that has been used. Dripping with \"Mojo\" This is the \"Real Deal\" Overall, good shape. Normal wear and tear.It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.Call the shop at [phone removed by ] with any questions. We are here to help!Top 40 guitars is a Veteran owned business.
