Vintage Antique Copper Brass George Washington Indianapolis Fire Extinguisher For Sale

This extinguisher measures 23 1\\2 inches tall. The body is copper and the lid is brass. The bottom looks like some kind of galvanized metal. The label says, George Washington Fire Extinguisher. The oval spot on this part looks like it was a stamped image of George Washington. It then says, For Fire Turn Bottom Up, To Stop Turn Back. Under that it says, Indianapolis Fire Extinguisher Company, Rear 842 & 846 North East St, Indianapolis Ind. Geo. Washington Koehne, Prop. This was a bicarbonate soda and sulfuric acid extinguisher. It is empty with some scratches and lots of patina. The glass bottle is not broken or chipped and has the lead stopper. The basket that holds the bottle has deteriorated in one place. The lid screws on and off freely. I cannot find much information on this extinguisher and have not seen another. The label is copper or brass, it\'s hard to tell. It was painted blue red and white, most of the paint is gone. There is no hose, it looks as if it rotted away long ago. This item does not ship international.
