Vintage Antique Rare Wood Eb E Flat Clarinet Excelsior Lecomte Paris, New Silver: $300.00
Hello! This sale is for a vintage Eb clarinet. This clarinet will need A LOT of work. The bell of the clarinet reads A. Lecomte & cie Paris with the word \"excelsior\" written in a banner above and something written inside a dotted oval that I can\'t read. The entire logo is a little hard to make out. The serial number is 330236, and measures 17 inches from the barrel to the bell. This clarinet has been partially refurbished and never finished. The keys have a brand new coat of silver plating on them, including all the tenon rings, the thumb rest and the thumb chimney. The keys show some age on them. Some of them have been worn away from use and age, and this can be seen under the shiny new silver. I don\'t know how much adjusting they will need or if they\'re all perfectly strait. It also has new corks throughout and there are new synthetic pads (probably Valentino, but no guarantees) in all the key cups, though they have NOT been floated yet and don\'t seal. It will need all new springs. All. The case was redone with new covering in and out and all new hardware but seems like it may need a bit of gluing still and may need more work to suit your own tastes or needs. It does close very securely and the clarinet fits securely inside. The bell had some damage that needs fixing. I\'ve looked pretty closely and I don\'t see any cracks at all, but there may be some small ones under the keys I can\'t see, and there may be some small ones that were already repaired. The body was well cleaned and oiled. I\'m sure this clarinet will have plenty of fun (haha) surprises for whoever gets to fix it! Two of the keys are not on the instrument but are included with a bunch of extra screws. I don\'t know what that\'s all about. I\'ve tried to best describe everything about this. It probably goes without saying that it\'s sold as-is, but I really don\'t think it\'s beyond repair! This would make a really fun project for a repair person, or to add to a collection since it\'s a very unusual brand. Please email me with any questions!
Happy offerding!
