Vintage Battery Operated Marx Mister Mr Mercury Motorized Robot All Original For Sale

This listing is for an original, gold Mr. Mercury. He is in excellent shape.He does have some slight corrosion (I think) on the end of the arms.(See Picture for details) The only function I could not get to work was the bend function. The remote is in great condition, the battery contacts are very clean. Released in time for Christmas 1963, the gold version of Mr. Mercury cost just under $6. He was touted as having \"magic hands’ - he could pick things up, put them down, even walk when you \"command\" him! Operated via a wired remote control (powered by 2 D cells). The Gold Mr Mercury was the third and final variation of Mr. Mercury. Unique to him (among other things) was the litho of IBM style tapes on his chest. Made by Yonezawa and marketed by Louis Marx.
