This lovely \"The Sanderson Hand Camera\", produced by \"Houghton Ltd.\", is in \"as found\" condition and has not been restored or repaired. There are no splits to the red leather tapered bellows and they have retained a good colour, there is a little fading to the corners and creases. The camera retracts and extends smoothly. The brass work has retained much of its\' lacquering and all it works as it should.The camera is fitted with a \"Unicum\" shutter, this appears to work, the lens is a \"Busch\'s Detectiv Aplanat No. 2 F.O.C. 5 In\" \"Rath. Opt. Ind. Anst. Vorm. Emil Busch, Rathnow\".The mahogany body is leather covered, and I can\'t find any major splits or tears to this, just the usual scuffs, marks and scratches.The back of the camera opens out fine the leather sides are intact. This lovely \"The Sanderson Hand Camera\", produced by \"Houghton Ltd.\", is in \"as found\" condition and has not been restored or repaired. 

In 1836 George Houghton went into business with a Frenchman Antoine Claudet. The new company made various types of glass including optical glass as well as photographic materials. The company expanded increasing its range of photographic products in 1904 George Houghton and Son became a limited company and Houghton\'s Limited was formed.
By 1908 their factory at Walthamstow was the biggest camera producing plant in Great Britain, employing over 700.

There are no splits to the red leather tapered bellows and they have retained a good colour, however, there is a little fading  to the corners and creases. 
The camera retracts and extends  smoothly. The brass work has retained much of its\' lacquering and all it works as it should

The catches to the top work well. The back of the camera opens out  fine and the leather sides are intact.
