LARGE Sweet Orr Advertising Clock - Electric - Amazing Graphics -- Rare Estate Find!
The previous owner was a 94 year old gentleman, who had worked at a local department store for 45 year. He acquired a few items from the store through the years. This amazing and rare Sweet Orr clock was one of his treasures.At his estate sale, we found this clock hanging on the wall where it had been for decades. When we plugged it up -- the second hand worked immediately.. We did not try to set the time or check for accuracy -- the clock has vintage bulbs, which can bee seen from the opening in the back, but we never tried to tamper with it,. The clock did not light up - could be the bulbs or we just do not know how to turn the light on.
The clock is large measuring roughly 15\" across the face. Take a look at the pictures, especially the close up of the face -- it reads, \"Sweet Orr Union Made Work Clothes For Men\" and the best of all is the graphics of the men tugging on the Sweet Orr Shirt.
The face is in great condition and the glass on front is clear and ha no breaks or damage. The clock on the back has a dent - which is seen in the pictures. Also, the area open for hanging has some damage. The plug has some old paint - not bad.
If you collect vintage advertising clocks- this would be a real jewel in your collection. It is heavy and solid. You occasionally see the neon Sweet Orr Clocks but this version seems to be harder to find.
