Early 1930’s GE “globe top”refrigerator that still works! They don’t make them like this anymore!
I’m selling this for myparents, so I\'m afraid I don\'t know too much about it. I do know that they have had it for something like 26 years and hasalways worked like a champ. I\'ve grabbed many a cold beer out of this refrigerator!
I’m no antique expert but I did find thefollowing information about this refrigerator on-line.
\"In the early 1930\'s, an altered version of thetypical GE Monitor Top was introduced, known as a \"Globe Top\". Theseunits featured a round, \"basketball-like\" top that housed thecompletely enclosed mechanical assembly. Hermetically sealed and permanentlylubricated, the GE Monitor Top refrigerator remains the most recognized andmost dependable refrigerator ever built. Hundreds, if not thousands, of theseunits remain in service today, offering their owners \"quiet\",\"dependable\" and \"service free\" refrigeration.\"
This item is to be sold \"as is\" and local pick up only please.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I\'ll do my best to get them answered. Thanks!
