Here is avintage Gibson tweed guitar amp. I\'m not sure what model this originally was as it doesn\'t have a badge or model information on the amp.It\'s possible that the amp has been modified. I know the control panel hasknoblabels that are not original and Dyno tape for labels. It is possible there are other mods, but I\'m not sure as I\'m not really familiar with these old Gibson amps.It uses a pair of Tung Sol 5881s and a 5Y3 rectifier tube. The speaker is a Jensen P12R with date code 220845. The output transformer is mounted on the speaker and appears to be original, but it has no outer markings and there is electrical tape wrapped around it. I don\'t know for certain if it is original or not. I did not get the vibrato to work when I tested the amp, but I realized later that I was probably using the wrong input. So it\'s possible the vibrato only works on one of the two inputs. The labeling above the vibrato control says \"input 1\". I was using input 2 when I tried it. The amp is working and I have to say that it sounds really good. There is some AC hum present, but not too bad. The amp quieted down when I plugged in the guitar. It may be even better with humbuckers. I recommend replacing the filter caps. I found this amp several years ago and it\'s been stored at my house and never played the entire time I\'ve had it. The tone reminds me of a Fender Tweed Deluxe. I was using an old Silvertone guitar with single coil pickups. The photos show the condition of the amp. The covering is in decent shape, but it has some tatters here and there. There is a back panel, but it is not original. Sorry, I left it out of the photos when I took them, but it is not original to the amp. It\'s some kind of wood board, with 3 large holes drilled in it, I presume for ventilation. I\'m not sure the power transformer is original or not. I don\'t want to take out the chassis just to check. The amp works with the transformer that\'s in there. In any event, this is not a collector amp, but it is a great sounding little single twelve tweed tube amp. The amp is currently working, but it is sold \"as is\". The shipping charge is a fixed amount as I always have trouble with the shipping. I only charge actual shipping costs, including packing materials. If the amount is less, I will refund the buyer the difference. I will pull out the tubes and wrap them separately and place them back in the amp, making sure they won\'t bounce around. Please let me now if you have any questions. Thanks.

Just did some more checkout of the amp and what model it is. Apparently, it is a Gibson GA-40 amp, the Les Paul model. These amps have been going for a pretty high dollar amounts in good condition. Also, I tried the tremolo and I could not get it to work, except for a few seconds when I first turned it on. My guess is it just needs a tune up. As I said before, I bought this amp years ago and it\'s been sitting in my house. I never really paid much attention to it. It is supposed to have a footswitch for the tremolo and it is not there. The tremolo off/on switch has been added, but it is in the \"audio\" path over to the guitar input section. This is not how the footswitch works. It\'s possible that the tremolo was wired on permanently but I can\'t know for sure without removing the chassis and the circuit board. In any event, the tremolo is just an oscillator, so it should be able to be repaired fairly easily. The amp needs a full tune-up, but it is currently working and sounds pretty good. Oh, almost forgot to mention that the power cord is also replaced with a 3 conductor grounded cord. It\'s an ugly orange color. Tuned up, this will make the new owner a great sounding amp.
