Offered is a rare set of vintage Givenchy fashion jewelry consisting of a rhinestone and faux pearl necklace and matching earrings. The rhinestones in the necklace and the matching earrings are in the “Tutti Frutti” style, based on the famous Art Deco era designs by Cartier. These molded stones, made to simulate the carved gems in the Cartier original, were most likely made by the famous French fashion jewelry house Maison Gripoix. The necklace consists of knotted faux pearls flanking a central multicolored stone panel, and is completed with a “GG” signature clasp. The earrings have a carved “emerald” leaf suspended from a “sapphire” cabochon and a carved “ruby”. The stone panel in the necklace is signed with a circular Givenchy Paris / New York, mark, and the back of each earring is also signed Givenchy Paris / New York. The condition is excellent with no missing or damaged stones. Some of the glue holding the white stones in the necklace has yellowed slightly with age, but there are no other condition issues. The overall length of the necklace is 17”, the earrings measure just over 1 1/2” in overall length.
