A vintage Transistor Radio complete with original box, leather case and accessories, Japan, ca.1960. This is the 9 Transistor Zephyr, Model ZR-930 in desirable Red. The dial case is a combination of stamped (paint filled) and back painted, and features a large gold chevron with decorative element above. The tuning dial has the Civil Defense (CD) marks, used between 1953-1963. There is an integrated kickstand on the back panel for tabletop use. These Zephyr 930\'s are quite rare regardless of condition. This beauty will display prominently in any collection.
Note: This was tested with a newer 9V. There is an initial sound when powered on, but no reception otherwise. Likely a capacitor issue commonly found in these early radios; a recap may be required to function properly.
Condition: The radio and leather case are both in Excellent to Near Mint, unused condition. No dings, cracks, scratches or other excuses. Both batteries are in the original packaging; I think the earbud is original as well. Includes warranty card and instruction manual for use and care. The box exterior has age-appropriate wear and soiling, as shown.
See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. Radio measures approximately 4-5/8\"H x 3\"W x 1-1/4\"D overall. Box is 10-1/2\"W x 6-1/2\"H x 2\"D.
