Vintage ROLLEIFLEX SL35 E W/ 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens

Thissale is for aVintage ROLLEIFLEX SL35 E W/ 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens. This lens has no scratches or fungus. This lens takes a 49mm filter, and the threads are perfect. Focusing is smooth. I installed a new battery on 7/25 (2 days ago), and the light meter works fine. The shutter also works fine.The viewfinder is clear and clean. The aperture ring is a little sticky around the f/11 & f/16 areas, but does go full range. The tiny knob is missing from the rewind handle, shown in photo# 7. (It is still easy to rewind the film) Overall, a very nice, clean camera.Frontlens cover, Hoya Skylight filter, and new battery are included, as shown. Nice Leather Comfortstrap also included as shown.

The Rolleiflex SL35E was a 35mm SLR released by Rollei in1978, successor of the Rolleiflex SL35M and SL35ME. It had an all newelectronic vertically running focal plane shutter, with flash sync to 1/125,and a SiO2 meter with aperture priority or manual exposure. The shutter speedwas indicated by LEDs in the finder. It could accept an external winder ormotor drive. An almost identical body was sold under the name Voigtländer VSL3-E. Both took Rolleiflex SL35 lenses, and were sold in chrome or black. Theywere built in Singapore as their predecessors.

Made from 1978 - mid 1981 in Singapore, total of 118.250 inchrome and black. A totally new development. Identical to Voigtländer VSL 3 E.First camera with electronically controlled metal focal plane shutter. Serials:between 6.300.000 - 6.499.999.

The SL35E, on the other hand, was a big step forward. It hadcenter-weighted open aperture metering capabilities in both automatic and fullmanual modes, a full range of shutter speeds from 1/1000 down to 16 seconds,X-synchronization at 1/125th and had the capability of using an accessory motordrive (scarce) or motor winder. For power, the SL35E take one PX-28 6 voltbattery.

It was available in both chrome and satin black versions andwas offered with either a 55mm f1.4 Rolleinar (made in Japan by Mamiya toRollei specifications) or a 50mm f1.8Rollei HFT Planar lens. It\'s high selling price and the fact that Rollei didnot advertise it enough lessened the support it received.
