Vintage Stetson 7X Clear Beaver Fedora with Box 7 1/4 to 7 3/8 Excellent For Sale

Up for offer is a Stetson 7X Clear Beaver Fedora. This hat is in excellent condition and is all original. The hat started out as a 7 1/4 but fits more like a 7 3/8. I would place this hat as early 1960\'s. It has the square size tag that began appearing around 1960 or so, but retains the clear liner cover that was predominately featured in earlier Stetsons. The hat liner image of the cowboy with his horse is embroidered, not printed. This hat may have been a retirement hat for a Stetson employee, as the sweatband is embossed with wording Made by Stetson Especially for Bill Heard. Not sure about the Bill part...that is quite faded now. The liner also is embossed with wording such as 7X, XXXXXXX, and Clear Beaver Quality. The inside circumference at the sweatband measure 23 inches, which is indicative of a 7 3/8 fit. I wear a long oval, this hat feels like a regular oval, but despite being rather stiff, does have some give to it to conform to the head. The inside opening measures 8 inches from front to back and the side to side measurement is 6 5/8 inches. Crown measures 5 inches tall at the side with the current bash, 4 3/8 at the front, and 4 3/4 at the back. Brim width is 2 3/4 inches. I believe the hat box is original to the hat. The hat box does have one strap pulled out of the side, as shown in the photos, below.
