Vintage Taylor Hobson TT&H Brass Lens with 9\" wooden lensboard For Sale

Vintage Taylor, Taylor, and Hobson (TT&H) brass lens, complete with flange mounted to 9\" wooden lens board; lens board is fitted with Packard shuttersystem, which it not used with this lens.
Optical design, focal length and relative speed of this lens is unknown.Approximate length from outside of front element to outside rear element is about 130mm (5 1/4 inches). Approximate lens diameter is 63mm (2 1/2 inches).
\"TT&H\" maker\'s mark appears at top of flange, with the word \"England\" at the bottom. No other markings are present.
Patented TT&H flange threads are smooth and unmarred, as is the threading in barrel for optical elements.Item includes only what\'s listed above, and shown in the pictures.

CONDITION:

Operational condition: Glass looks very good. There are no visible scratches of any significance on any elements. There are a few specks of dust here and there. No mold or fungus.

The velvet light-inhibiting gasket strip above the Waterhouse slot is floppy and will need to be replaced.

The focusing rack works well, but is a little bit sloppy.

Lens board is nice, but Packard shutter condition is unknown.

Cosmetic condition: Lots of \"patina\" on everything, as would be expected of something this age; no signs of abuse, though.
