vintage watchmaker drill press Very small Look Jeweler lathe Tiny 4 jaw chuck For Sale

for sale is a vintage watch maker tool. It is a drill press converted or made from a watchmaker lathe. It is a recent estate find from a gentleman that bought a boat load of stuff/tools from the Elgin national watch factory when it closed in the late 1960\'s. The headstock and tailstock fits my tiny Elgin factory lathe perfectly. I amalludingto the fact this drill press could be a Elgin factory tool, but I can notguaranteethis. With the lathe I have , I know where it came from. This one ( drill press / lathe) I am not sure.... At any rate this little tool is in great as found condition . It is in good working condition. The motor is fine and quiet. The variable speed foot pedal is working fine. The drill press table raises and lowers and locks in place The headstock and tailstock can be relocated on the vertical bed, and both can be locked in place. The headstock and tailstock are cast iron, the bed is bronze. The four jaw chuck is the smallest I have ever seen. It is constructed like a pin vise. It is a really neat tool. I do not know the accuracy of this tool. I have only tested in out by drilling in wood, and making sure the motor and foot pedal work properly. ( the last picture shows a user light) mounted on the bed of the lathe/drill press the light works fine, but the toggle , on off switch will need to be re worked. That is why I only have it pictured once. The light is a free throw in.. Pretty cool tool to show other friends in the watch makingbusiness.
