This Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Heritage Square Model 519 Perpetual Motion Clock is a true masterpiece. Crafted in Switzerland in the mid-20th century, this clock has a brass frame and intricate moving parts. The square shape, Arabic numerals, and analog display give it a vintage charm.
Mechanical movement, self-winding, and changes in atmospheric temperature power this clock. It is made of brass and glass and finished with a gold color.
The Atmos is a clock that has no external power source, and never needs to be wound by hand, nor is it powered (as most pendulum clocks are) by a suspended weight. Instead, the Atmos clock gets its power from minute changes in atmospheric temperature.
This is Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock Caliber / Model 519.
I found a website that gives dates of manufacture by serial number.
It has a low number of 37748, which dates it to the late 1940\'s or early 1950\'s.
The clocks runs and the motion appears smooth. The finish has minor blemishes in the plating. The mechanism appears very clean, and the locking mechanism is in working order.
Please view all of the images, as they are part of this description.
This clock has some age appropiate wear to the gold trim and face, I have not tried to clean it.
