Older Wilcox & Gibbs sewing machine with a variety of patent dates as late as 1871. The wooden base measures 8 1/4 by 12 3/4 inches. There is wear, soiling, and some rust. The metal base has two holes, but they are empty. It seems to operate well, but I have not attempted to sew with it. The rubber feet are about worn out. For safe shipment, I plan to remove the machine and crank from the wooden base. Reassembly requires three screws for the crank assembly and one thumbscrew for the machine, plus reattaching the belt.
