1914 Princess Mary Christmas Gift - Writing Wallet Tin with Contents
The following items came together and have some personal effects, in the form of two photos and a Xmas card. The rest of the items are from the Princess Mary Xmas Fund 1914. The sale is for the following items;
Writing Wallet and ContentsWriting Wallet -These are rare to find now. This one is in good condition with a couple of minor stains to thefront, see photo. It also looks like it has been left in the sun at some point as it is faded compared to the material under the flap. There are some pencil marks to the inside looks like \'TOT\'? The press stud works.Writing Pad - This has been used, it has the canvaspencil holder on the side. The pencil is a letter replacement. It also has the Linedpaper to place under the top sheet so you can write in straight lines.Envelopes - There are four of the original envelopes remaining.Two Photos - One is of an unidentified British officer (no regimental ID) with a dog. The other smaller one is of a unidentified farm house.Christmas Post Card 1914 - This bears to the front a picture of King George V and Queen Mary. On the rear is printed\' With our best wished for Christmas 1914 May God protect you and bring you home safe Mary R George R\'Second Xmas Card (notofficial)- It has a cross on the front and bears the message\'A Christmas Message From Home\'Buckingham Palace Letter - This is aprinted message on Buckingham Palace headed paper and reads\'Gift from Mary R and the women of the empire\'This has been folded and has come apart, it has two pieces of tape holding it together.
