you are admiring a custom made pre war aero 38-1711p contract a-2 jacket. the jacket was made by Steve sellers [the greatest generation]. the jacket was made with special treated horsehide, to have the appearance of a wwll original. the details are flawless, from the collar stand, top stitched sleeves, and body, reverse stitched side seams, hand sewn collar clasps, leather jetted inside zipper tape, to the proper weight and weave knit elements. the dense horsehide shell shows areas of uneven surface wear, graining, and creasing, just like originals. note that there are no elbow creases, with is an indication of not having been worn. to top it off, the jacket was made with an original aero label sourced from early 1940s flight pants, and an original 1937 talon [not reproduction] riveted zipper. the jacket is tagged a size 42, but this is a true military fit, so please read the measurements submitted. with the jacket laid flat, pit to pit: 22 1/2\". front length: 22\". sleeves as measured from the shoulder seam to end of cuff: 24\". shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top back: 18\". back length from the bottom of the stand collar to the bottom of the waistband: 24 3/4\". there is nothing like this one offered anywhere, by anyone.
