WWI US ARMY M1909 BOLO KNIFE MACHETE-SPRINGFIELD 1910-MACHINE GUN UNIT MARKED For Sale

Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWI US ArmyModel 1909 bolo knife machete. Marked “SA” on the left side of the blade anddated 1910 along with a flaming bomb. Right side of blade is marked “U.S.” withthe serial number. Blade has original bright finish with some scattered grayand brown and has been sharpened. Wood grips have original finish and a goodtight fit with some normal handling marks. The tang is bent to the left. Fittedin correct original leather scabbard that is maker marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL”and dated 1910 with inspector initials. Scabbard is unit marked “4. M.G.P. 30 1INF.”, probably for 4th Machine Gun Platoon, 1st InfantryRegiment or Division. Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear.Stitching is tight. The lanyard ring at the bottom is absent. A hard to findM1909 bolo knife machete with a nicely unit marked scabbard that will make anexcellent addition to your collection.
