Up for offer is a neat identified WWII P-47 Fighter pilot uniform group. The group includes ID\'d Ike jacket, crusher, and heavy sterling identification bracelet. The jacket is a size 37R and has bullion pilot wings, pinback 2nd Lt bars on shoulders, Felt probable English made 9th air force patch on sleeve, and winged prop & US insignia with flat clutches. The jacket exhibits moderate to heavy period wear with a few small snags and is missing a button (button is in pocket). The ID bracelet is in nice shape with some tarnishing and wear. The crusher is in rough shape exhibiting heavy wear and is missing the leather sweatband. These items were turned up by a local picker here in Cincinnati. I did some research on the pilot and found that he was shot down by flak and KIA on 3/18/1945. He was a member of the 378th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group, 9th Air Force. The pilot flew P-47D 42-28848 \"Battlin Beanie II\". Neat little uniform group. Guaranteed authentic in every regard.
