Synopsis
Jamie Lesser is a boy born with Aniridia with Congenital Nystagmus, a rare eye condition that, among other things, leaves him extremely short sighted. He also has an insatiable dream to become a salsa dancer. With a poker-playing father who has no time for him, and an older sister who runs away from home, he knows nothing about love, save for the salsa music in his bedroom. However, after being turned down at a local salsa audition for his bad eyesight, he shuts down permanently…and eventually becomes an accountant; a self-sufficient loner with a routine controlled life in New York City.
When he meets and unknowingly falls for a gold-digger from Washington Heights, a beautiful Puerto Rican girl named Elissa who suddenly abandons him, he reluctantly turns to his estranged older sister for girl advice, but gets more than he bargained for when she presses him to find the ‘bigger plan: self-love.’ Loathing his sister even more and crumbling from a broken heart, his life falls to shambles. When his paralyzing depression almost lands him in front of a moving taxi, he begins the search for himself through his last resort - his childhood dream of salsa dancing.
