2010 Film Festival Winners

Our 2010 film festival program of 30 titles was molded from nearly 1,000 entries. To narrow down this elite line-up even further was a near-impossible task only our incredible judges could execute. Congratulations to the following films:

BEST FEATURE

BEDROOMS
Directed by Victor Teran, Youssef Delara and Michael D. Olmos
1 hr 25 min

Starring Jordan Belfi ("Entourage"), Bedrooms is an evocative story about the walls that separate people, the heartbreak and infidelity that's often the result and the redemption that comes from tearing those walls down. The film is told in 4 stories by 3 unique filmmakers.

BEST SHORT

CHASE THOMPSON: A FILM BY CHASE THOMPSON
Directed by Vincent Lin
13 min

When up and coming filmmaker Chase Thompson is hired to direct a lackluster romance film, the foolhardy director takes it as an opportunity to fire the crew and turn the film into his own zombie slaying masterpiece, starring himself.

BEST DOCUMENTARY

LAST SUMMER AT CONEY ISLAND
Directed by JL Aronson
1 hr 34 min

With the future of “The World's Playground” hanging in the balance, an amusement park operator, a local historian, a boardwalk souvenir boutique owner and others work to save Coney Island from becoming an ersatz copy of its former self, an empty lot, or even worse, a shopping mall. This documentary explores the power of place and asking what value we put on cultural history and affordable recreation.

AUDIENCE CHOICE

EARTHWORK
Directed by Chris Ordal
1 hr 34 min

The story of real-life crop artist Stan Herd. In 1994, Stan traveled from Kansas to New York City to create a massive environmental artwork on land owned by Donald Trump. The multi-acre piece was made from soil, rock, plants and vegetation near an underground railway tunnel.
