This morning, Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling led a press conference about the economic merits of local filmmaking. His A-List ace in the hole, Sissy Spacek, also stepped-up for the cause. She told candid little stories of life on the set sprinkled with hard-hitting facts about VA politics, tax incentives and programs. The presentation as a whole was very well-received.
Also present were state Sen. Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth) and Del. Ben Cline (R-Amherst). Specifically, Bolling and Spacek were speaking of Senate Bill 257 and House Bill 861 (to do with a “more aggressive” strategy to lure film production to Virginia.) Will VA be the next Hollywood? Anything is possible!
