New York State Loves Film!

According to the state’s comptroller  today, New York’s film tax credit has generated nearly $7 billion since its inception in 2004.

Lawmakers may even extend the program through 2015 to help NY compete with the tax incentives of 42 other U.S. states.

“Visitors from all over the world come to New York because of the iconic movies and TV shows shot here.” – Thomas DiNapoli

The program has been responsible for over 63,000 jobs in 2008 alone – paying out $5 billion in wages. This makes New York the second-biggest film industry in the nation after California!
