This is a superb figure of a Medieval archetype--the warrior poet, the embodiment of the romantic ideal of chivalry --atonce introspective but physically robust. The figure is hand painted and extraordinarily detailed. It features a seated cavalierwith sword in hand, an open book beside him and musical instrument at his feet. Because of the exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail it is reasonable to suspect that this is quite an old piece.
It is in very good condition but does have some wear on the arm where some paint has worn away.See photos for a visual description. 9" tall, 9 1 /2" wide. A small hole in the hat runs the length
of the statue. It is too small to have ever been a lamp. Perhaps it once held a real life feather?
