Antique Cushman Tudor Design Carved Mahogany Humidor Smoking Cabinet
Enhance the ambiance of your decor with this antique/vintage Smoking Table crafted by A. Cushman Manufacturing Company of Vermont. The table is a beautiful Mahogany color with an inlaid diamond design on the door, which opens to reveal a spacious interior storage area with copper/metal lining. The table stands at a height of 30", is 18" wide, and has a depth of 10½". This table is perfect for holding your smoking essentials or as a decorative piece that adds character to your space. It has a beautiful amber-colored ashtray and a pipe that sits on top. These two pieces came with the piece and will stay together. It is in good vintage condition; with wear to the finish/varnish only, specifically minor scuffs. The wear is appropriate with age and use. The quality construction using mahogany wood ensures the durability and longevity of this piece. A light sanding with a new coat of stain or varnish will make this piece like new again. The original Cushman sticker is intact on the bottom of the cabinet. Please see the pictures as they are part of the description.
A bit of history regarding H.T. Cushman. H.T. Cushman started business in 1886 making hat racks and novelties in a shop east of the old stone gristmill on Prospect Street. This burned in 1889, and was built up at once where business continued until 1892 when it was moved to the stone mill on Water Street. From novelties they turned to making Mission furniture, then smoker stands.
