Antique Furnival Spodes, Set of 2 Plate Stand Furnival & Sons Furnivals TheseAntique Furnival Spodes (2) are in nice condition! Cannot discren the name of the series, however it is a floral/tree scene with butterfly and bright colours with gold flake accents. From what I can find, these spodes date back to late 19th century or early 20th century. This is based on the stamped "FURNIVAL" and additional makers mark (which is not discrenable) just above.

Godden suggests that early wares bear the impressed mark of "FURNIVAL", although the initials, "T. F." are also possible.Regarding the impressed mark, FURNIVAL, this must, again be treated with caution. It does not necessarily denote a piece dating between 1864 and 1871. We have in our collection a mug commemorating the coronation of King George V in 1911. This bears the impressed mark, "FURNIVAL" on the base.
