Disneyland SKYFEST Charles Boyer 1985 POSTER Anaheim Walt Disney 84th Birthday Disneyland SKYFEST Charles Boyer 1985 POSTER Anaheim Walt Disney 84th Birthday
Classic Disneyland Memorabilia by Saturday's Toys presents... an original poster commemorating the City of Anaheim as they sponsored "A Million Balloon Salute to Honor Walt Disney & Disneyland's 30th Year." The poster was created by Disneyland Master Illustrator Charles Boyer, though it often slips under the radar as one of his early unsigned illustration commissions.
The extraordinary event would release over ONE MILLION helium balloons into the atmosphere above Disneyland in celebration of the park's 30th Anniversary year.... on Tuesday, December 5, 1985... also known as the 84th Birthday of Walt Disney
The event was featured on newscasts from coast to coast... as the spectacle was carried on video for all to see.
The poster measures 20" x 28"; and features Mickey Mouse flying in a hot air balloon across the historic city of Anaheim, California... including the Big A (Anaheim Stadium), the Anaheim Convention Center, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Matterhorn... and several of Anaheim's most historic downtown buildings.
A one-of-a-kind event that will never again be authorized (for environmental concerns)... but absolutely spectacular in its time.
Shipped rolled in protective mailing tube.
