Two gay men kissing on a parapet 4\" x 6\" portrait 1940s-50s gay man\'s collection

1940s - 1950s

Brand new. Digitally edited and professionally re-printed on photo stock.

From a family estate of a gentleman\'s collection of gay and male related photographs and ephemera. Most items are from the early to mid 20th century and includes loose photographs as well as some pictures that were cut by the owner from an antique photo album.

Digital Reprint

This 4\"x6\" photo shows two men in morning suits, standing on a parapet in the hills, kissing. They are facing in opposite directions on the wooden beams, facing away from each other, and bent over in a sort of tango position, in a strong embrace. Was this the strange off-balance position over the drop next to them, or was it something else?

The older man (behind) has dark hair and looks to be wearing some sort of ring on his right hand. The younger man has light blond hair in a cut from the 50s-60s, is grasping hard onto the other man\'s arm as he leans backwards into the kiss. The younger man looks to have a much smaller stature than his senior.

Both men are wearing identical suits and shoes, which makes me believe this was at a wedding or some other formal occasion, and perhaps the suits were hired (rented) for the day. In the distance beyond where they stand we see a large body of water and houses nearby, all in soft focus. They are standing in the shade of a laurel or bay tree.

A portion of the sales from my original prints are donated by on my behalf to The Trevor Project. Their mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. They offer crisis services, counseling, safe spaces and more. If you have the opportunity, search for online and watchthe short film Trevor, on which this foundation is based.

*For this type picture, I made digital repairs to the original images and had them professionally reprinted. Each of these photos is labeled at the top of the listing as \"Digital Reprint\" to indicate that these are not the original prints of these images. They are also priced accordingly.

1 picture(s) included as part of our description. Please examine carefully before purchase. If you have any questions before purchase please contact us here: we are very happy to help in any way we can.
