Vintage/Antique Surveyor’s Transit with Display Base Possibly Refurbished For Sale

Here's the deal, I do not know the brand, or if it was refurbished and repainted or that is the original black paint.  It came with an old .22LR scope on top to look complete.  However that does not even remotely fit in the top.  Appears to be in great working condition and it may be a great old piece but I see no brand markings anywhere.  If you know where a marking may be I am happy to check just please message me.
