This is a vintage teacup and saucer set from Victoria Cartwright & Edwards of England, from the "Annette" line. Made of bone china and made in England, it features a creamy white background upon which is painted flowers in pink, blue, yellow, and white. The center pink dots are raised paint. The design and the edges are gilded in gold.
The saucer is 5 1/4" across, and the cup is 3 5/8" across the mouth; from tip of the handle to the other side edge, it is 4 5/8" across. The teacup itself is 2" to the top rim, and the handle extends up a little more to about 2 5/8".
This teacup set is in perfect condition, and looks as if it has been on display only and not used. There are no signs of wear, no crazing, no stains or loss to the gilding.
The mark underneath was in effect from 1936-1955. It is in a brown color, and reads: "Victoria C&E Bone China England "Annette". There is some hand writing in red that accompanies, that perhaps speaks to the production process.
