c1899 Scarce Letterhead J.E. Ballard Tobacco Cigars Baltimore - Ephraim Baker
On lined accounting paper with some lines in red ink. Showing signs of age, wear,handling - mostly heavy toning on top half.Expected fold creases from posting. Two corner fold-overs. Two fastener holes near top edge.Itmeasuresapprox. 7\" x 8 3/8\" In fair condition. You will receive the exact example as seen in the photos. Would display very well in a clear vinylpage protector as part of your binder collection.
*Ephraim Baker (1836-1919) operated a general store in Mount Olive, Shenandoah County, Virginia for most of his adult life. Thisis part of a collectionof billheads / letterheads mostly from purchases from wholesale merchants for inventory for Baker\'s store.His store was used at one point as a hospital during the Civil War. He also served as Mt. Olive Postmaster from 1874 to 1889 and 1895 1898. Baker is buried in the Saint Stephens Cemetery, Strasburg, VA
