August 22, 1945 Army Air Forces issued Final Report of Procurement,Inspection, Testing and Acceptance of the Lockheed XP-49 Experimental Lightning Fighter Airplane, AAF Technical Report 5271, 30 pages including cardstock covers SCANNED ON CD FROM MY ORIGINAL REPORT, NOT FROM A REPRINT OR BOOTLEGGED FROM SOMEONE ELSE! Please view the attached SCANS for a sample of the content and SCAN quality! This report was produced by the AAF specifically for the XP-49 airplane, which was a experimental version of the P-38  with a pressurized cockpit, armed with two 20MM cannons and four .50 cal machine guns, and powered by two Continental IX-1430 liquid cooled engines!! Only ONE was built and had various issues and was eventually flown to Wright Field and work was halted on it.
