ANTIQUE FRENCH BEVELED GLASS VITRINE DISPLAY BOX NAPOLEON III ERA CHATEAU CHIC For Sale

Well loved old antique French jewelry or vitrinedisplay box:

~ I am guessing this is from the Napoleon III era - c 1852 - 1870

~ Intact and functioning well

~ Beveled glass with no large scratches or abrasions to note

~ Decorative brass edging holds the glass

~ Elevated by stylized shell curved legs

~ Rose toned original silk lining remains but is fadedand tattered - lends to the character in my opinion

~ Early printed cardboard or paper bottom exterior has basketweave pattern

~ Chateau chic all the way around

~Shouldlast a few hundred more years if the new owner cherishes & takes good care of it asprevious owners have

*Marks: None that I could find

*Condition: Acceptable vintage condition given the age, rarity, and unique handmade nature. There are a few random missing tiny prongs or brass dropsaroundthe edges/borders. I counted 7 or so, and most are on the bottom of the box. This is very old and not perfectly dead on square or lined up perfectly. Either made that way orworkedit's way ever so slightly askew over the years. Hinge works perfectly and clasp is tension set and functions well - but isn't necessarily even or aligned perfectly either. Lining is obviously shredded- but all the above is part of the charm ofthis old old historic box.

Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged. I will do my best to note anything glaring or distracting.
