Offered is an unusual and highly collectible pair of handwoven Bahamian straw pieces, accompanied by an original handwritten provenance note reading approximately “Nassau, Bahamas / March 4, 1934 / From Emily to Jean.”
Handcrafted from natural straw/palm fiber with intricate circular weaving, contrasting gray/blue woven accents, decorative looped edging, and braided straw cord. The pieces show considerable age, character, and handmade variation.
