Antique Brass & Copper Bed Warmer – Late 18th to Early 19th Century
Offered is a genuine antique brass and copper bed warmer, dating to approximately the late 1700s to early 1800s. Bed warmers were used in hearth-heated homes, filled with hot coals and passed between sheets to warm the bed prior to sleep.
This example features a pierced brass domed lid for ventilation, a solid copper pan base for heat retention, and a long hand-forged brass handle with baluster turnings. The hinged lid and riveted construction are consistent with Georgian-period domestic hearthware.
