Up for sale is an antique Chinese underglaze blue and white porcelain covered box, traditionally used for betel nuts, seal paste, or ink. The exterior features a fluidly hand-painted provincial vine design, and the lid has an abstract starburst wheel motif. The underside retains an old collector or estate inventory label attributing the piece to the "Ching Dyn. Tung Chih 1862".Condition:
Good antique condition with characteristics typical of provincial kiln ware from this era. The upper rim of the box body shows minor roughness, discoloration, and small flea bites/glaze pops from firing and use. There are no major structural cracks or repairs.
