Rare Antique Victorian Tin Litho Cat Kitten Child’s Toy Tea Set 6 Pc

Charming and exceptionally difficult-to-find antique child’s tin tea set featuring wonderful lithographed cats and kittens surrounded by colorful flowers.

This partial six-piece set includes:

* Three miniature cups

* Three matching saucers or plates, each measuring approximately 3 inches in diameter

Each saucer features a different expressive cat portrait, while the cups are decorated with additional kitten scenes against a soft blue-green background. The interiors and rims originally had a gold-toned finish. The pieces are made of lightweight pressed tin with rolled rims and applied handles.

The set likely dates to the late Victorian or very early Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910. No manufacturer’s mark is visible. Antique tin toys with cat imagery are especially appealing, and this is a remarkably unusual surviving group.

Condition

Antique condition with substantial age-related wear. There is scattered lithograph and finish loss, oxidation and discoloration, scratches, small dents, and bending or waviness to portions of the rims. The gold-toned interiors show considerable wear. One saucer has more noticeable denting and surface irregularity. The cup handles remain attached.

This is a partial set and does not include a teapot, tray, or other serving pieces. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description. Sold as found and uncleaned.

Despite the wear, the rare kitten decoration remains wonderfully visible and gives this set tremendous character. An appealing display for a collector of antique tin toys, miniature tea sets, Victorian children’s items, or early cat memorabilia.
