▼About the Second GenerationSuiranNakamura

The second generationSuiranNakamura was born in Kyoto in 1942 (Showa 17). After graduating from the Ceramics Department of the Art Course at Kyoto Municipal Hiyoshigaoka High School in 1961, he apprenticed under his father, the first generation Nakamura Suiran. In 1974, he succeeded to the name of the second generation Suiran, and in 1984, he won the Grand Prix at the Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki Exhibition and the NHK Chairman\'s Award at the National Traditional Crafts Exhibition, among others. In 1987, he was certified as a traditional craftsman of Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki.

Furthermore, in 2003, he was recognized as an outstanding technician of traditional industries by Kyoto Prefecture, and in 2010, he was selected as a \"Contemporary Master Craftsman.\"
