20-1940\'s Kellogg\'s Pep Cereal Tin/Litho Pinback Buttons. 2-Superman/No rust:
$65.00

These 20-Kellogg\'s Pep cereal pinback buttons are among the most famous and highly collectible cereal premiums in history. Introduced in the 1940s to promote Kellogg\'s vitamin-fortified whole-wheat cereal, \"Pep,\" these tiny prizes captured the imagination of a generation. Children famously collected them and pinned them onto homemade felt beanie caps.
Condition: These are all VG+. Some faces have wear but more importantly none of them have rust on the backs-very rare for these tin buttons.
*The Famous Comic Character Series (1945–1947)The most famous collection is the comic strip character series released between 1945 and 1947.The collection featured licensed characters from King Features Syndicate and other newspaper comic strips.
Here\'s is what is included:* Highly Collectible: 2-Supermans: The most famous pin in the entire collection. The massive demand from comic book collectors makes high-quality originals scarce and highly prized.*Hard to Find: Finding these specific low-demand characters in good condition is surprisingly difficult today: 1-Kayo and 2-Moon Mullins.*The Rest: Hans; Skeezix; Rip Winkle; Orphan Annie; Dagwood; Sandy (dog); 2-Harold Teen; B.O. Plenty; Uncle Walt; Junior Tracy;. Pop Jenks; Emmy; Tiny Tim; Mama De Stross.
Size: They are very small, measuring exactly 13/16 of an inch in diameter. They are lithographed tin buttons (printed directly onto the metal) rather than celluloid. This makes them prone to scratching, chipping, and edge rust over time.
The Front: Each pin displays a bright, color portrait of the character with their name clearly printed in bold text. The Backing: The reverse side features a simple straight pin mechanism and always features the \"Kellogg\'s PEP\" stamp printed in blue lettering.
