Antique 1915 WWI Calendar Delphin Enjolras “His Letter” Hand Colored Print Original Letter Box 14.5” x 7.5” x 1.25”

This is a remarkably rare, authentic 1915 antique cardboard calendar box for holding letters from sweethearts fighting in WWI, featuring a beautiful hand-colored "Rembrandt Print" photogravure of French artist Delphin Enjolras' famous work, "His Letter". This poignant piece captures the early WWI-era sentiment of a young woman reading a letter by the warm glow of a lamp. The item is a phenomenal survivor for paper ephemera collectors. The bottom of the calendar features the original "Nineteen Fifteen" cover flap protecting the intact monthly calendar sheets (showing January 1915 on top). All months are present; photos are limited to 24, so I could not include all 12. The reverse side of the box features a charming, vintage hand-drawn architectural pencil sketch of a house and an old "$8” shop mark.

Condition Report (Please Read Before Purchasing): This item is over 110 years old and is being sold in as-found, un-restored condition. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to assess: Water Staining: There are visible amber-colored water stains/tide lines including running vertically down the central image across the woman's dress and lap.

Paper Tear: The bottom "Nineteen Fifteen" cover flap has a tear and paper separation on the far-left corner.

Wear: The outer edges of the matting and box show typical age-related edge wear, scuffing, and minor browning as well as paper deterioration.

Despite these conditional flaws, the piece remains an incredibly scarce, "New Old Stock" style example of turn-of-the-century calendar craftsmanship.

It has not been repaired, taped, or chemically cleaned to preserve its historical integrity, except for one piece of presumed original piece of tape on the top left corner of the box.
