Antique M1881 New York National Guard 74th Regiment Dress Helmet Plate InsigniaAuthentic antique Model 1881 Indian Wars / Spanish-American War era State of New York National Guard dress helmet plate (insignia). This 140+ year-old piece features the iconic New York State coat of arms with the "EXCELSIOR" motto ribbon along the bottom, all surmounted by a beautifully detailed spread-wing Federal eagle.
The center shield features the original applied white-metal numerals "74", designating the 74th New York State National Guard/Militia, historically headquartered out of Buffalo, New York.
