This is a used Solingen Bulldog Brand 2-blade trapper in genuine stag. Clip and spey. Master blade has the reverse-frost BULLDOG BRAND etch with the dog. Tang stamps: BULLDOG GERMANY and STAINLESS Solingen GERMANY. No box.

Stainless, not the early carbon hammer-forged run. Olbertz-era Solingen work.

Condition Notes

Used. No box. Blades keep full profiles; etch is still readable. Stag shows no cracks at the pins in the photos. Bolsters and liners have light handling and age. What is pictured is what ships.

Description & History

Charlie Dorton started Bulldog Brand in 1978 at the Friedrich Olbertz shop in Solingen. Early knives were mostly carbon and used the fighting-dogs tang. Stainless production became common later, especially from the 1990s Parker / Olbertz runs.

This trapper is stamped STAINLESS. Do not treat it as a 1978–1987 carbon first-generation piece. It is a used Solingen Bulldog stag trapper with the classic etch.
