VTG 1930s Cascade Bourbon Whiskey Lighted Embossed Glass Sign Geo. A. Dickel KY For Sale

Measures approximately 18" x 9" x 5".

The glass reads “Drink Cascade – Mellow as Moonlight” with the lower advertising line identifying Geo. A. Dickel Distilling Co., Inc., Lexington, Kentucky and Cascade as 90 proof blended straight whiskies. That wording is consistent with documented Cascade advertising from the late 1930s.

The embossed lettering and graphics really come alive when illuminated, and even with the obvious age and wear it has a fantastic early tavern/bar-back appearance.

The glass has substantial original paint loss, crazing and general age-related wear as shown in the photos. The metal housing is in decent overall condition for its age with surface wear, oxidation, and several small dents. Please look closely at the photos for the extent of the paint loss and overall condition. It is certainly not a perfect example, but it has a ton of character and is an unusually early surviving illuminated Cascade advertising piece.

A very cool piece of pre-war whiskey advertising and a difficult sign to find, particularly in the embossed-glass illuminated format.
