Vintage French Porcelain half-doll on a lace-covered lidded box For Sale

Porcelain half-doll mounted to the lid of a round covered box, with a separate pair of porcelain lower legs laid across the skirt and gilt-decorated shoes at the hem.
The figure is glazed white porcelain with both arms free of the body, the right hand raised toward the cheek, painted brows and lashes, tinted cheeks, an orange-red mouth and moulded pale hair dressed close to the head.
The skirt is built from ecru cotton lace over a fabric-covered card lid, with silk floss in faded coral massed around the figure and small fabric rosettes at the shoulders and hem. Lifting the skirt shows what it covers: the lid lifts away from a shallow round base, and both parts are faced inside with cream paper.Condition: the paper facing inside the lid and the base is torn, with a large loss to each and lifting along the edges. The lace is soiled to an even grey-beige, brittle at the folds, and torn with small losses across the skirt. The silk floss is frayed, shedding, and unevenly faded. The fabric covering the rim is soiled with scattered spots. The gilding on the shoes shows light rubbing.Measurements: 6 in diameter, 6 in high as held. The torso and the legs are two separate porcelain parts. No maker\'s mark or mould number has been located.
